Cookery courses at Rutland Cookery School

Whether you are learning the art of bread making or healthy eating, knife skills or food photography, the sole objective is that you learn in a calm and patient environment which increases your confidence, ability and knowledge.

For courses involving cooking you will work singly, with a maximum of nine people on any course. Recipes are worked through simultaneously, with each stage carefully explained and demonstrated.

You will use quality ingredients, sourced locally as much as possible.
Depending on the course we may eat together or you may have food to take home with you. Please bring some food storage containers with you in case.

At the end of the course you will receive a booklet of the recipes to take home. From September 2018 recipes will be emailed to attendees within 48 hours of their workshop.

Whether you are a total beginner, an improver or a competent cook, you will learn new skills which will increase your enjoyment and introduce you to new dishes and new techniques.

All equipment and ingredients are provided, you just need comfortable clothes and shoes (no heels or open toes please).

PLEASE NOTE: Payment is either by credit card via Stripe OR by bank transfer. The school’s bank details are provided for you to log on to your own bank account and make payment. SELECTING THIS OPTION DOES NOT COMPLETE PAYMENT. Bookings made using this option and not paid within 4 hours will be cancelled and your place returned for someone else to book. Full day workshops 10am – 4pm, are designed to cover a single topic in one day. Cost: £99  (£118 from 2019)

Half day workshops run from 10am – 1pm.  They make ideal ‘taster’ sessions or where a worthwhile amount can be covered in a short space of time, for example pork pies or knife skills. Cost: £51  (£60 from 2019)

Half day (4 hour) these sessions are slightly longer at 4 hours (10am – 2pm) than the half day workshops, allowing us to explore topics in a bit more depth, finishing with lunch and a well-earned glass of wine. Each session is £66 (£78 from 2019)

Bespoke Workshops these can be custom designed for groups of 6 – 12. Create your own fun and creative day.   Cost: £P.O.A – it depends what you want to do

Team building.  Rutland Cookery School (9.30am – 4pm) is an ideal venue for small groups of people (maximum 12)  to have their own ‘ready, steady, cook’ day in a relaxed environment. Social, challenging, collaborative and great fun. £POA

It is essential when booking that you advise of any accessibility issues, allergies or dietary requirements. Rutland Cookery School is committed to being as inclusive as possible and we will do our utmost to accommodate you but we do need to know in advance. We are wheelchair friendly and have a height adjustable workstation, also useful for other disabilities that make standing for any length of time difficult.

We aim to work with the best and freshest ingredients and may need to change dishes at the last moment.

We reserve the right to cancel any course if sufficient numbers are not enrolled on it. An alternative date or full refund will be offered.

All prices include VAT, equipment and ingredients.  A light lunch is included if appropriate (this depends on what we are cooking) on day-time courses. You may also have products to take home with you, depending on what we make / eat. Please bring some small food storage containers.
